Business Mentoring Programme

Access Sport Business Mentoring Programme

Access Sport enters a three year relationship with each club and during that time focusses on nurturing anddeveloping three key areas of growth, sustainability and youth development.  The Business MentoringProgramme has been designed to enhance the impact of this partnership further by carefully matchingour community sports clubs with teams of corporate employees from organisations who sign up toparticipate in the scheme.  The skills that the mentors bring will help clubs develop against all three of these pillars.
Note: Only clubs that are at least 1 year into their partnership with Access Sport will participate in the mentoring programme.  This is to ensure that the basics of clubs development are in place at the startof the relationship andthe development needs have beenOur  identified.

Our Business Mentoring Programme is an innovative initiative that matches teams of corporate mentors with one of our community sports clubs.  Through a longer-term partnership, facilitated by Access Sport, teams of mentors help nurture their assigned club's development in the areas of growth, sustainability and youth development.

Pillars of club development

Shared Value

A central principle of the Access Sport Business Mentoring Programme is that of creating shared value forthe community sports club and its members as well as the participating organisation and its employees.

Employees who take on roles as mentors work closely with our club leaders to help them grow and develop their clubs and in doing so, are exposed to some very inspiring and very challenging situationsassociated with inner city, volunteer led comunity sports.   Through participating in the programme participants  gain an incredibly rich experiential development experience that not only helps them grow as individuals and as leaders but equips them with skills and insights that benefit their employers.

How the programme works

To make sure that the impact of the mentoring is sustainable, participating organisations and clubs commit to a two year partnership.  Partner organisations identify teams of between 4-6 mentors with a variety of skill sets and personal development goals and Access Sport ‘match’ them with the most appropriate sports club.  Whilst the team of mentors may change during the two year partnership to maintain a level of continuity individual mentors commit to participate for a minimum of six months.
