We believe in the power of sport to transform young lives.

Story

On Tuesday the 26th May, 12 boys from Radley College C Social will be hitting a ball for 12 hours in order to raise money for the Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund (AIPFF).  We are aiming to 'hit-a-ball' every 35 seconds over 12 hours. This will be done from our homes and we hope to put together a short film showing how we got on. We are doing this from all over the globe; the first shift will start in Shanghai.

The event will run from 7.00am to 7.00pm; we will each have done an hour of hitting a ball by the end. We were trying to think of something that can be done with no garden and no space, so we thought the "hit-a-ball" challenge would work well. So some of us will be hitting a ball against a wall in our room (parents permitting), while others will be doing a 'keepy-uppy' in the kitchen or playing tennis with our siblings.

We hope that you can support us in this challenge and in so doing so support AIPFF.

We have chosen AIPFF because of the brilliant work it does with Access Sport (see below) to support community sports clubs and facilities in all over the UK.  Currently children and teenagers, all over the country, are unable to leave their home let alone attend a sports club. This means that  when lockdown is over, it will be all the more important that these venues and clubs are up and running

Access Sport believe all young people should be able to experience the power of sport. However over the past few years the number of people on low incomes participating in sport has fallen nearly 50,000, causing a third of UK children being classified as obese or overweight, sidelining the poor and vulnerable. Your support makes a real difference in creating a level playing field, giving under-represented and at-risk young people regardless of ability, gender, background or ethnicity, the chance to enhance their life prospects through sport.
