With over 500 attending Access Sport’s annual dinner 09 raised over £80,000, a record. A huge thanks is due to our partners CPM, in particular to Tony Stratton and his event team as well as trustee Natalie Pinkham.

A glittering array of sports stars supported the cause and the keynote speech was given by charity founder Charlie Beauchamp.  Awards were presented by Mike Allen, VP of GSK Nutritional Healthcare and former England rugby union captain, Phil de Glanville, Access Sport Ambassador to:

  • Club of the Year: to Ron Hill of Bath City Boxing for their outstanding growth and outreach work on the Whiteway Estate.
  • Fundraiser of the Year: to Terry Rodham for his second successful 24 hour Spinathon at the Hogarth gym. His own effort of 24 hours solo on a spinning bike took him to some dark places.
  • Volunteer of the Year: to Caroline Sumners whose pro bono marketing advice aimed at attracting young people into sport has been tremendously helpful.
