Volunteers at a Sports Jam

Volunteering is vital for community sport and for us as a charity – we really appreciate your help:

  • Ride Around London 2011 - In September 2012 we will need lots of help with various jobs on the day from managing a rider support station, running a funsraising activity, event marshalling and much much more.  Please email Hannah to regester your interest or to find out more information - ridelondon@accesssport.co.uk
  • At SportJAMs – come and help out at our big festival events  - running sports and registration zones, meet ambassadors
  • At our partner sport clubs – as coaches and administrators, mentoring, facility makeovers etc
  • Volunteer your time to fundraise and make a real difference to your community.
  • At the Charity:
    • Internships - we are regularly recruiting people for help with our projects.  All roles are regularly advertised on www.uksport.gov.uk
    • Work experience – we welcome work experience enquiries from students and others
    • Secondments - help us with your specialist skills and learn new ones yourself

Volunteer of the Year

We like to reward the people who make everything happen at our sports clubs, as they are the reason we are able to do what we do.  Each year, the volunteer of the year gets an invitation to our annual dinner, with the chance to meet some of our fantastic ambassadors.

The 2010 Volunteer of the Year was Bonny Brown, for everything he did to help at Easton Street Sportz.  Click here to see pictures of Bonny collecting his award from John Barnes.

“I should like to thank everyone at Access Sport for giving me the opportunity to be a volunteer, I enjoyed every minute! We had nearly 300 kids come into our zone, many who like me had never tried this sport before. I can say that virtually every kid that tried it enjoyed it and I am confident that that some of these children will attend a session using their free voucher
