There is a difference between being disabled and having a disability
- Youth Panel Member

Access Sport Bristol have recently developed a youth panel in order to provide a platform for disabled participants and volunteers from the Ignite Programme to have their voice heard in sport.

The Youth Panel have allowed the team in Bristol to be able to explore the real life views, opinions and ideas that young disabled people in the current day have. The incredible panel involved have offered Access Sport an invaluable resource of information and opinions, and provide an otherwise inaccessible insight into these young people’s lives and experiences.

The youth panel has explored topics such as ‘a disabling society’, the marketing and promotion of disability sport and also local disability sport in Bristol.  Members of the panel have also offered some fantastic social media advice and assistance, to help Access Sport reach more disabled people in Bristol.

Coming from a user’s perspective means the discussions have been very instructive and eye opening, helping to shape and grow the charities outlook on disability sport.
