Challenge Access Sport

Sign-up to Challenge Access Sport today and take on a Challenge to support disadvantaged and disabled young people.

We are scaling-up to support more young people than ever before. With your help we want 15,000 disabled and disadvantaged young people to access the life-changing benefits of sport and physical activity. To do this we need to raise £2m.

We can’t do this without your support.

We are calling on individuals, corporates, community sports clubs, partners, family and friends to pledge your support to #ChallengeAccessSport today.

How?

All we are asking is that you commit to completing any physical challenge, any time, between 31 March and 31 December 2022 whilst fundraising for Access Sport.

Set up your Just Giving fundraising page today and join our #ChallengeAccessSport community.

I'm In!

By signing-up today, you will be joining friends and partners from across the Access Sport community including England Hockey, Columbia Threadneedle, Matthew Dawson and Liam Richardson in doing something amazing this year.

Why?

Right now, there are significant barriers preventing many children and young people from being physically active. Large groups of young people are missing out on regular, physical activity.

Research[1] shows that:

  • Disabled people are twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people
  • Children & young people from the least affluent families are the least likely to be active
  • Children & young people from ethnically diverse communities are the least likely to be active
  • By the age of 16 or 17, 64% of girls will have quit sport

Less than half of all children and young people are meeting the Chief Medical Officer guidelines of taking part in sport and physical activity for an average of 60 minutes or more a day.

With your support, we are determined to change this. Are you with us?

I'm In!

By pledging your support, you will be helping us challenge the stubborn inequalities in community sport that leave so many young people on the side-lines.
