Get Started

Access Sport has had the pleasure to have been supported by some truly amazing community fundraisers over the years. Below are some of our most recent fundraising stories.

Daniel Maby, Bristol to Lands End

10-year-old Daniel and his father Steven embarked on a week-long cycling trip. The 368 mile long journey spanned the length of the South-West from Bristol all the way to Land’s End in Cornwall, a remarkable distance for even an experienced cyclist! Not only was the length of the trip astonishing, but also Daniel’s generosity and thoughtfulness – he embarked on this cycling challenge to fundraise for Access Sport so that other young people, perhaps those less fortunate, can take part in sport just like he does.

Daniel raised an astonishing £1600 for Access Sport! An incredible achievement.

Matthew Dawson, Devizes to Westminster

Matthew and his friend Graham completed an incredible 125 mile canoe race from Devizes in Wiltshere all the way to Westminster, London. This amazing feat took the pair 30 hours non-stop to complete, navigating a whopping 77 locks along the way, despite both being relative novices to canoeing after only 3 months of training.

Matthew managed to raise an astonishing £2000 for Access Sport, generously match funded by his employer through their Sponsorship Matching Scheme.

You can stay up to date with all of our brilliant fundraisers by following Access Sport on our various social channels; Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

And if you are feeling inspired and would like to take on a challenge to help change more young lives through sport, why not check out the events we have on offer this year, or let us know about your own ideas!
