Access Sport is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin McPhee as our new Chair of the Board of Trustees. Martin was chosen after a rigorous, publicly-advertised search with the enthusiastic recommendation of the charity’s Nominations Committee and the full support of the Board.

It is a great privilege to be appointed chair of Access Sport at a time when our work as a charity has never been more crucial. I am looking forward to working with my fellow trustees and staff to realise Access Sport's vision to give access to the benefits of inclusive community sport to all young people regardless of ability or background.

Martin joined Access Sport’s trustee board in May 2016 and has been Chair of the charity’s Income Generation Committee since the beginning of 2019. He has advised the charity on income generation, digital development and our 2025 strategy, while playing a huge role in the development of the AQAS annual dinner. He has extensive all-round experience in growing businesses and a proven record at the highest level with the world leading companies including Accenture and Cisco Systems. He is also proud coach to his local youth football team.

Tim Jones, Access Sport chair for the past five years and a trustee since 2012, is stepping down but will continue to be involved with our work in an honorary capacity.

I am delighted at Martin’s appointment as Chair and would like to congratulate him on his new role. His passion, skills and experience will be integral in enabling us to deliver our strategy in what we know will be a tough external climate over the coming years. - Tim Jones, former Chair

Access Sport thanks Tim for his fantastic support and dedication over the past eight years, especially in his tenure as Chair. Without his guidance and input the charity would not be in the strong position it is in today.
