Volunteer Celebration Evening November 2016

Access Sport hosted their Volunteer Celebration Evening at Netham Park Pavilion and welcomed over thirty volunteers who work within grass root and inclusive sport across Bristol, for an evening of fun, food and festivities.

Hosting the event was of such high importance, as without the commitment and perseverance of these volunteers, thousands of disadvantaged and disabled young people would not have access to engage in sport through these current opportunities. Access Sport, wanted to thank, praise and recognise these special people. The charity understands that the clubs they help support rely heavily on local passionate people who make things happen and are fantastic role models in their communities.

The evening was a huge success and not only celebrated these outstanding accomplishments, but also provided a platform for the volunteers to network and share best practices with one another. It also gave people the chance to gain an awareness and knowledge of other clubs and opportunities to enhance signposting across clubs. By bringing together both Ignite and Doorstep clubs, a fantastic community buzz was created and was definitely enhanced by a sports quiz, which got just a little competitive!

In order to thank everyone for all of their hard work, each individual received an Access Sport goodie bag alongside a pin board for each of their clubs. The boards were made up of photos and positive quotes from parents, carers and participants and were created with the aim of being developed and displayed by the club to demonstrate all the amazing work that goes on at these thriving community sports clubs. All in all a fantastic evening, thanks to everyone who attended.
