Nuffield Health is Access Sport's Health and Wellbeing Charity Partner.

Access Sport partnered with the UK’s largest healthcare charity, Nuffield Health, to address the unmet needs of disabled and disadvantaged children and young people in the Greater Manchester region.

Young people in disadvantaged areas have poorer life chances than their peers. They face higher levels of isolation, mental health issues, disability and long-term health conditions, challenges at school and unemployment. However, sport and physical activity can significantly improve this situation.

Launched in 2022, the partnership between Access Sport and Nuffield Health aims to provide young people with access to inclusive community sport; sporting opportunities at Nuffield Health’s Manchester Institute of Health and Performance; cycle training; and young leaders training aimed at the next generation of community leaders.

The partnership builds upon Access Sport’s award-winning community sport development model whilst utilising Nuffield Health’s world-class facilities, health and fitness experts and educational resources, to give more local people, and neighbourhoods, the tools to live a healthier life.

So far we have:

  • Positively impacted over 15,138 disabled and disadvantaged young people
  • Provided on-the-ground support for 26 community sport clubs
  • Generated £4.5 Million SROI (Social Return on Investment).
