Join Our Disabled Young Women and Girls Panel Access Sport, with support from the Sweaty Betty Foundation, is looking for young women and girls aged between 14 and 25 to form a Disabled Young Women and Girls panel. The panel will be a youth led initiative that will bring together 15 – 20 disabled and neurodivergent young women and girls to co-design, influence and lead change across Access Sport's programmes and the wider community sport sector. This project builds on our Breaking Barriers research and strengthens Access Sport's commitment to making sport more inclusive, youth-led and representative of disabled girls lived experience. The panel will meet online once a month and in person each quarter to discuss current issues, develop youth-led projects, and ensure that youth voice is embedded throughout Access Sport's work and activities. In addition to panel meetings, members are invited to join Access Sport events, take part in training and work on inclusion focused projects. Who should apply? We want to bring together a range of women and girls with diverse experiences and backgrounds. We especially welcome applications from women and girls who do not see themselves as “sporty”; are from lower income families; are Black or of South Asian heritage; refugees or seeking asylum; are LGBTQIA+; have personal experience of the care system; or are young carers.
