Bexley Bike Club have launched their disability inclusive Wingz sessions, and are already having a fantastic impact on the young people in the local area!

A video of 10 year old Jayden riding the new pump track in his adapted wheelchair at a session has encouraged other kids to come along and give it a go.

The video of Jayden has had over 2700 views on the Bexley Bike Club facebook page, including Laura, mum to Dominic (7) who also uses a wheelchair.  Once he saw Jayden’s video he was keen to give it a go, and loved knowing that he wouldn’t be the only wheelchair user in the group. Dominic was a little shy and didn’t want to try to go around the track with Jayden, but to took himself off to the smaller ramps and did let one of the volunteers roll him around the track.

Laura says:

Having now seen Jayden’s skills as on the track, Dominic has been happier pushing his skills that bit further. He says he likes coming to the sessions and is looking forward to coming again.

Bexley Bike Club welcomes disabled young people with a range of abilities, and is developing a vibrant community. Another new visitor to the pump track is Leo (9) who rides a trike. Leo’s mum, Mags said about his first time at the track:

Leo had a great time. There are not many places where he can ride his trike.

Leo has now become a regular at the Wingz Cycling (disability inclusion) session.
