The Youth Board play an integral role in providing a youth voice and shaping the wider delivery of our work so that it is truly inclusive, accessible and impactful.

Access Sport’s youth voice is an essential component in our ongoing mission to make inclusion the norm in community sport. Our Young Leaders programme creates a pipeline of passionate young people that sit on our National Youth Board and regional Youth Voice groups.

By regularly working with young people, we can ensure that they are at the heart of what we do, and that their voices are heard and taken on board across our activities.

National Youth Board

Currently, the Youth Board play an integral role in providing a youth voice and shaping the wider delivery of our work so that it is truly inclusive, accessible and impactful.

Our long-running National Youth Board is formed of 10 disabled and non-disabled young people aged 15-25. All young people involved with Access Sport can apply to join the Board.

Regional Youth Voice Groups

We have regional Youth Voice Groups in each of our Changing Places locations. The role of these groups, is to meet regularly and advise our teams on local delivery programmes.

In addition to supporting our activities, they also have specific aims and objectives aligned with our wider Young Leaders programme.

We also plan to support the clubs that we work with to develop club Youth Voice Groups, with training on how to run and support these groups provided by Access Sport.
