After a year of recreational use of the facility and as restrictions lift, Access Sport ran a small soft launch of the facility during the Easter holidays. The soft launch gave young people from the local community the opportunity to use a BMX, learn to ride the pump track and increase their cycling proficiency. Read more

With over 20 BMX tracks in London and the South our Making Trax Programme has been moving north with the first track in the North West to be started in Salford. The new track will be built in Peel Park and looking to be open to all in March 2021. Read more

Our Making Trax programme proposed its first ever BMX track in Sheffield, detailing plans for building the track within the Hillsborough Park. The Team had fantastic feedback from local residents and the plans have now been unanimously approved by the local council. We hope this will be the first of many! Read more
Pick Me Up Magazine has recognised the incredible work done by volunteers in Charlton during the Coronavirus crisis. Local charity Roots4Life called on our Team 100 volunteering project and together they’ve been working to tackle the food poverty and isolation of those most vulnerable and at risk in the area. Our Making Trax Cycling Programme have been supporting the NHS during lockdown by loaning out bicycles to NHS workers on the frontline of COVID-19. Hospital Staff are able to get bikes, helmets and 1:1 route planning to facilitate a safe commute as well as gaining the physical and mental health benefits of exercise. The Access Sport Flyerz project has been working with community clubs to create inclusive hockey sessions since 2012. There are now Flyerz Clubs across the UK, from the South Coast to Scotland, welcoming young people of all abilities. Our Making Trax Programme is making some great progress in Bristol, over 3 years the programme is aiming to develop 5 open access cycling facilities to engage young people into cycling and BMX in some of the most disadvantaged areas across Bristol. The Easton track will be the fourth and the final one is set for Stockwood. The Bristol Post report on the proposed development for Easton, supported by key funders Bristol City Council and the London Marathon Trust. Read more
Our Making Trax Cycling programme expanded to Bristol in 2017 with plans to build 5 new bike tracks to engage young people in the most disadvantaged communities across Bristol. The Bristol Post report on Hartcliffe, which is just one of these tracks, thanks to funding from Churngold, Bristol City Council and Places to Ride it is now on its way to completion and will be benefitting young people in the Hartcliffe area from early next year.
