Archery GB Neuro-Inclusion "This training is a part of our commitment to creating more inclusive environments in archery, allowing everyone, regardless of ability, to participate fully” - Stuart Wall, Archery GB Archery GB, the National Governing Body (NGB) for archery, recognised a pressing need to strengthen their community workforce’s ability to create safe, inclusive environments for neurodivergent participants. This need became clear after one of their Regional Manager’s attended Access Sport’s first Neuro-Inclusion Webinar and saw the potential for deeper impact and approached us to deliver tailored neurodivergence learning for their network. This collaborative project focused on developing and delivering Neuro-Inclusion in Archery workshops and creating a Neuro-Inclusion Toolkit for the sport. We worked closely with Archery GB to tailor our exiting neuro-inclusion workshops with an archery-specific lens, ensuring that examples and discussions are practical for coaches, volunteers and club leaders. The impact of this collaboration has been significant: Families with lived experience of neurodivergence have had the opportunity to share both during the collaboration phase and during workshops themselves Coaches and volunteers have reported increased confidence and competence to create neuro-inclusive spaces Sport-wide challenges and opportunities have been identified and addressed through collaborative problem-solving. Creating an archery-relevant space gave participants the confidence to openly explore their current practices, identify gaps in knowledge and discover opportunities to further enhance their club. Beyond individual learning, this project has also fostered community cohesion as participants connected with colleagues from other clubs and shared practical solutions, laying the foundation for a more inclusive sporting system. This collaborative process has enabled Archery GB to demonstrate a proactive commitment to inclusion.
