Inclusive Facility Development

We have developed 21 open-access cycling facilities across the UK

Access Sport has extensive experience in the development of inclusive outdoor sport facilities, from conception to delivery and activation, with a focus on all-wheeled youth and community cycling facilities, BMX pump tracks and basketball courts.

We do this on our own projects, as well as supporting other sector partners on an advisory or consultancy basis.

We can provide a full-service offer, or support on specific elements of your projects, as needed. Typical projects include some, or all, of the following services:

  • Concept development
  • Landscape site analysis
  • Stakeholder and community engagement
  • Design development and revisions
  • Cost planning
  • Planning applications
  • Tender documentation
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Project management through to practical completion.

Our team for this work includes experienced Project Managers, A Chartered Landscape Architect, and multiple inclusion specialists.

Tess Cinamon-Duffield, Head of Programme, said:

"This work is more than just about building facilities. More importantly, it's about using sport to create hubs that strengthen and connect local communities. Through these facilities, we can make tangible long-term sustainable change in underserved communities all across the country”.

Since 2019, we have been the lead party responsible for the detailed feasibility studies of six new community cycling facilities across the country. These feasibility studies have helped secure planning permission and over £1.3m of investment.

We want to work in partnership with organisations that share our vision of improving and developing new inclusive sport facilities across the country.

If you would like to find out more, please leave your details in the form below and one of our team will be in touch.
