The Paralympic Games highlight the need for more opportunities for disabled people to get active

The Paralympic Games are brilliant and for two weeks every four years, disability sport is in the spotlight. But with disabled people in the UK only half as likely as non-disabled people to play sport regularly, we must do more to capitalise on the Paralympic flame and ensure that disabled people get the chance to take part in activities week-in, week-out every year.
NEW BMX TRACK LAUNCHES IN LITTLE HULTON

As part of the Making Trax Cycling Inclusion Programme, Access Sport, alongside a number of key partners has supported the development of a new BMX track located in Peel Park, Little Hulton, Salford.
Access Sport offers £500 to BMX clubs to encourage more people to ride

To celebrate the success of Team GB BMX at the Olympics, Access Sport is offering clubs a £500 grant to put on open days so more people can try BMX. And to encourage more girls to start riding, Access Sport is also offering £500 to clubs to run sessions for girls.
Historic BMX Olympic success is a celebration of grassroots cycling

Bethany Shriever and Kye Whyte’s Olympic success in Tokyo shows what can be done with investment in cycling at grassroots level. But if we are to inspire the next Beth or Kye and unlock the potential of cycling to build a more active nation, we must provide more opportunities for young people to get into cycling.

'A Question of Access Sport'

A Question of Access Sport is our charity’s flagship event, bringing together 400 supporters, partners and guests for an amazing evening of inclusive sport. The dinner includes a much-loved quiz and the chance to have-a-go at some of our disability-inclusive sports, all while raising funds for our vital work making sport more accessible to those who need it most.
