Access Sport’s vision is to support community tennis clubs across the country so that they can provide disabled children and young people with fun, inclusive and accessible opportunities.

We believe tennis can have a transformational impact on disabled young people in their local communities.

We know from Lawn Tennis Association's research that 84% of existing players believe tennis has had a positive effect on their social support networks and 89% said that it has had a positive impact on their day-to-day happiness1.

Since starting to play tennis, disabled players also reported feeling less bored (73%), less isolated (63%), less stressed (48%) and less tired (33%)2.

Alongside these benefits, more than a third of players would miss the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines of doing 150 minutes of activity if they were not playing tennis.

We want to use the power of tennis to make a tangible difference in young people’s lives and have ambitious plans to scale our Acez Tennis programme, which will has four key areas of delivery:

Empowering local clubs
A focus on empowering, upskilling and supporting local tennis clubs, parks and venues to deliver new disability-inclusive activity and ensure their whole club or venue is inclusive, accessible and welcoming

Growing participation
Acez Tennis focuses on supporting disabled young people. Every organisation has a bespoke offer suited to the needs of their community, developed with the support of our team

People
Supporting local volunteers and coaches through Disability Inclusion and Neurodiversity Training plus bespoke support, ensuring they have the confidence, skills, knowledge and equipment to deliver inclusive tennis activities

Network
We’re committed to spearheading an Acez Tennis network to facilitate the sharing of best practices, storytelling and long-term support.

We also work directly with the Lawn Tennis Association to promote systemic, long-term change in Tennis.
