Lauren is joining Access Sport from a background in EDI research in the real estate and construction sector.  She is currently studying a MSc in Neuroscience and Neurodegeneration at the University of Sheffield and has a BSc in Human Biology from Sheffield Hallam University.

After experiencing some exclusion from sports within school due to her own disabilities, Lauren wants to make sure everyone has access to sports and wants to make the topic of accessibility less daunting for those not familiar and get more people involved in volunteering as it can really make a difference for clubs.

Lauren also has personal experience in grassroots-elite sport having been involved in wheelchair basketball since she was 11 and recently getting involved on the coaching pathway. Right now, her main sporting focus is Wheelchair Rugby as she currently competes for the GB women's team and the GB Talent Squad hoping to one day represent the senior team at a Paralympics.
