"The tremendous impact and potential of disability Rugby League is there for all to see. We are delighted to be working with Access Sport to tap into this potential and give even more people the opportunity to experience and enjoy Rugby League"

Chris Godfrey, RFL Manager

The Access Sport team is experienced in working with event organising committees, sponsors and other partners on the development of grassroots sports-based engagement initiatives targeting the underserved communities supported by our team.

We do this with our sector partners, including national governing bodies, as well as supporting other public, private and third-sector organisations on an advisory or consultancy basis.

Tryz Rugby League

In 2022, we partnered with the Rugby Football League to launch Tryz, a new grassroots disability inclusion offer for Rugby League’s community clubs.

This is an important legacy project for the Rugby World Cup 2022 and was launched during the Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup and Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup.

As the first disability-inclusive grassroots programme specifically for young people in rugby league, Tryz is run by our team in partnership with the Rugby Football League.

Our mission is to support all rugby league clubs to be disability inclusive and to change the sport of rugby league for good so that young people have the opportunity to play the sport they love in a fun, inclusive and accessible environment.

The Rugby League World Cup provided a critical catalyst for this project. However, by partnering with us the Rugby Football League has ensured its long-term sustainability, thanks to the project being embedded in our local place-based development work - where we have a wealth of disability inclusion expertise.

Thanks to a network of funders who are committed to disability-inclusive sport, we have also identified additional long-term partner funding for this programme.

Our team for this work includes experienced Project Managers, research specialists and multiple inclusion specialists.

If you would like to know more about Inclusive Programme Development work, please leave your details in the form below and one of our team will be in touch.
