Access Sport Partners with UK Sport to Change Lives We will work with UK Sport to develop new and improved programmes, focusing on embedding inclusive offers in host communities. We will support UK Sport to use the platform of major sporting events to power positive change. Aligned with UK Sport’s new major event strategic framework, ‘Making Live Sport Matter’, this new partnership reflects UK Sport's renewed commitment toward embedding social impact into every event as a priority. Introduced at UK Sport’s annual Event Partners Day, these four new Event Social Impact Partners include Access Sport, Coach Core, StreetGames and Loughborough University. Working with these new partners, we will improve the capacity and capability of major event organisers and positively impact lives. Every event that UK Sport invests The National Lottery funding into must have a social impact at its heart and deliver positive, lasting change. To support these events in their ambitions and relieve pressure on event managers, we will deliver scalable, evidence-based programmes across UK Sport’s events programme. Specifically, we will work with UK Sport to develop new and improved programmes, focusing on embedding inclusive offers in host communities. The other partners will support UK Sport through their various specialisms: Coach Core Foundation will create a range of event-specific apprenticeships StreetGames will connect young people with opportunities to spectate, volunteer and participate at events Loughborough University will work with UK Sport on social impact at a strategic level to build a centralised social impact strategy and structure for the sector, as well as an overarching monitoring and evaluation framework. Helen Rowbotham, Access Sport CEO, said: "We jumped at the opportunity to work with UK Sport. Major events have the potential to be a powerful catalyst for change within the communities we want to work in. Young people want positive experiences and event organisers also want to do more. Working together we can both improve the inclusivity of events and create new opportunities for children and young people to enjoy the wide-ranging benefits that community sport can offer. We are excited to get started!” Esther Britten, Head of Events at UK Sport, said: "Our ambition is to use the platform of major events hosted in the UK to deliver meaningful, societal change into host communities. By establishing these partnerships and making them available to the sector, we believe that they will supercharge the work already being carried out by event hosting partners or help deliver on their ambitions that they don’t have capacity to achieve.Interested in learning more about our work supporting major events? You can click the link below to find out more.Event Legacy Planning> Uk Sport is the UK’s trusted high-performance experts, powering our greatest athletes, teams, sports and events to achieve positive success.
