“Humans are born to dance and have evolved to wrestle. We take out the competitive element so that it's purely for fun. Ours is a playground not a battleground”
- Saeed Esmaeli

Access Sport has been working with Wrestle for Humanity in Bristol to launch a new series of sessions incorporating a unique combination of dance, wrestling movement, mindfulness and music.

This will be a new and innovative offer for the club, which has been offering inclusive wrestle movement sessions to the local community for two years. The new sessions will be fully inclusive, with the aim that everyone can take part.

Saeed Esmaeli, former Olympic wrestler and coach at Wrestle for Humanity encourages participants to ‘work with what they’ve got’. Through a combination of playfulness and expert movement analysis, participants can learn how their body moves at its best. Saeed believes that everyone can benefit from this fully inclusive approach, from Olympic athletes to people with restricted movement (e.g amputees, stroke rehabilitation and the elderly).

“Humans are born to dance and have evolved to wrestle. We take out the competitive element so that movement is purely for fun. Ours is a playground not a battleground” - Saeed Esmaeli.

Access Sport will be delivering its YMCA-accredited disability inclusion training to coaches and supporting the club to start the new sessions later this year.
