Access Sport Launches a Special 20th Anniversary Annual Review 121,593 disadvantaged and disabled young people positively impacted Access Sport has published a special 20th anniversary Annual Review recapping our transformational impact on young lives over the last two decades. The review reveals our journey from a small charity established in south west England, to where we are today; a national charity that works in six cities and runs a national Changing Sports programme. Two decades of making inclusion the norm in community sport. We’ve changed and grown over that time, but our core focus remains the same; helping communities access the transformational benefits of inclusive sport. Key statistics from 2004-2024: 121,593 disadvantaged and disabled young people reached 3,484 Young Leaders trained 6,319 coaches and volunteers upskilled 16 partnerships with national governing bodies 2,181 community clubs supported 21 BMX bike tracks developed. The review is also full of important updates from 2023-2024. In the last year, we have seen unparalleled growth across the charity and continued to deliver on our Stand for Inclusion strategy. Milestones include reaching 20,000 young people, expanding our Changing Places and Changing Sports work and significantly developing the breadth of our System Change work. For example, you will learn more about Judd – a young man from Manchester who has benefited from our Changing Sports cycling work. Judd’s story highlights how community sport can act as a positive outlet for disadvantaged young people. By creating the environment for Judd to excel, we provided a previously struggling young man with the motivation and skills to make positive changes in his life. This review showcases our transformational impact on communities and individuals over the last two decades. Looking ahead, we must recognise that this work is the tip of the iceberg. More needs to be done so that disabled and disadvantaged young people can access inclusive community sport. We invite organisations who share our values to reach out. By supporting us, you are championing tangible, positive change” All of this would not be possible without our growing network of partners, including: Sport England The London Marathon Foundation Nuffield Health The Players of the People's Postcode Lottery. Together we have made a lasting impact on the next generation of young people. Click on the link below to read the full review. Annual Review 2023-2024
