Access Sport Hosts First Ever Inclusive Multi-Sport Festival in Ealing "This was the best day ever!" – Participant Last month marked an exciting milestone as we hosted our first-ever inclusive multi-sport festival in Ealing. In partnership with Mencap, Our Active Community, and Motion4Kids, the festival brought together 71 participants to explore a fantastic range of inclusive activities, delivered by local community sports organisations. The event welcomed children, young people and adults of all abilities, creating a vibrant day of connection, joy and movement. Unlike our traditional festival format, this event ran as a full-day programme split into two sessions: Morning session for children and young people aged 5-18 Afternoon session for adults aged 18+. This structure ensured that participants of all ages and abilities had the chance to explore a wide range of accessible and engaging sports in a welcoming environment. Throughout the day, participants took part in a diverse programme of activities, including basketball, football, netball, boxing, dance, boccia and more. The atmosphere energetic and supportive throughout, with families joining in to connect with others in their community. Boxing proved to be a firm favourite, with lots of smiling faces and enthusiastic feedback across both sessions. We were delighted to collaborate with an outstanding group of Ealing-based providers, including: Treasure Boxing Club Brentford FC Society Dance Academy Motion4Kids. Each provider brought their passion and expertise to help create an inclusive, engaging festival experience. The strong co-partnership with local organisations played a key role in making the day impactful and memorable for everyone who attended. The positive energy throughout the day highlighted the power of inclusive community sport to bring people together, build confidence and create joyful, shared experiences. This festival also marked a significant step forward in growing the Ealing Inclusive Sport Network, strengthening collaboration across the borough and expanding inclusive opportunities for the local community. Building on the momentum of this event, new inclusive circuit sessions will be launching after Easter, alongside a programme of Easter holiday activities, ensuring that inclusive sport continues to thrive in Ealing beyond the festival. Jo Valks, Ealing Council, shared: “It's been really inspiring to see so many young people enjoying trying so many different sports and to see parents networking and exchanging ideas for activities. A big thank you to Access Sport, Mencap, and Motion 4Kids for the work that they do.” Mike, Motion4Kids, shared: “Today has been amazing. We’ve welcomed young people with a variety of needs and given them the chance to try everything from boxing and dance to football and tag rugby. With our coaching team offering both group sessions and one‑to‑one support, it’s been a day focused on adaptability, inclusivity and making sure everyone feels valued. Seeing over 100 people here, connecting and enjoying themselves, is exactly what motivates us.” If you would like to find out more about this event or future events like this, please contact [email protected].
