Access Sport’s Stand For Inclusion Dinner Raises over £50,000! “It’s the achievement of a lifetime.”Adam, Young Leader of the Year Award Winner On Wednesday 25 February, we hosted our Stand for Inclusion fundraising dinner, marking another year of extraordinary progress in our mission to make inclusion the norm in community sport. The evening showcased our achievements over the past year and raised vital funds that will directly support disabled and disadvantaged young people across the UK. Hosted by Olympic legends Greg Searle MBE and Alice Dearing, we welcomed 160 guests for a memorable evening at the Bluebird Chelsea! We were delighted to be joined by an exceptional line-up of sporting champions who generously gave their time to attend our annual dinner, including: Helen Richardson-Walsh MBE, four-time Olympian and long-standing Access Sport Ambassador Karé Adenegan, British wheelchair racing Paralympic medallist and BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Sophie Newnham, the current youngest member of Boccia UK’s World Class Programme. We were proud to also celebrate our three outstanding award winners, who were recognised for their exceptional commitment to transforming the lives of young people through inclusive sport. Inclusive Coach of the Year: Pete CaseleyFor pioneering disability-inclusive tennis at Sodbury Tennis Club. Inclusive Club of the Year: Tryz CumbriaFor offering life-changing pan-disability rugby league opportunities to young people in North Cumbria.Young Leader of the Year: AdamFor his remarkable journey from struggling with confidence due to a speech stammer, to becoming a skilled cycling coach and role model at Hillsborough Pump Track. The night’s proceeding finished on a panel conversation with our special guests, Rosie Galligan and Sarah Massey! Rosie was part of the game-changing squad who led the Red Roses to a glorious Rugby World Cup win last summer. And Sarah was Managing Director at the Women’s Rugby World Cup and a key driving force behind the tournament's historic success. It was a terrific conversation around inclusion, belonging and championing women and girls’ inclusion. To everyone who attended, bid in our auctions, supported our award winners and contributed to a successful evening, thank you for standing for inclusion with us. Your support is changing young lives.
