Bristol Down Syndrome FC finished the football season on a high with many of the young people attending the final session before the summer break. The session was fantastic with the club finishing with fun activities and games led by the two committed coaches. In celebration of this year’s success the team received medals and personalised certificates praising all their commitment courtesy of Access Sport.

The hard work off the pitch by the club with the support from Access Sport has enabled the fantastic group of players to improve and succeed on the pitch.

There are some great footballers, characters and people in the group, and whether they have improved on their footballing ability, confidence, enjoyment, you can see an improvement from everybody.

One of the biggest successes this year was achieving their highest ever finish in the DSActive national tournament in June, this was a great day for the club and showcased all the fantastic skills and team work developed and learnt by the players weekly training.

The club has also grown by introducing new players and new volunteers. Several players this year have also completed work and coaching based courses to improve their employability skills.

For three of our current players this is the final season as they prepare for residential college in September - more confident, with enhanced skills and experiences developed through their time at the club, Bristol DS Football. Access Sport wishes the players well on their next steps.
