MANOR Hosts Underground Ultra Challenge, Raising Over £3,000 for Access Sport On a day defined by resilience, teamwork and community spirit, MANOR’s Underground Ultra Challenge brought over 80 people together for 12 hours of continuous effort, raising vital funds for Access Sport’s work. Thanks to the incredible efforts of participants, supporters and donors, more than £3,000 has been raised so far. All the funds raised go directly towards supporting disabled and disadvantaged young people across the country to access the life-changing benefits of community sport. MANOR’s vision is to positively impact the physical, mental and social health of 10 million people, and the Underground Ultra challenge was a powerful example of that commitment in action. Bringing together members, coaches and supporters, the challenge showcased the strength of the MANOR community to create lasting impact beyond the gym floor. Inspired by the Backyard Ultra format, the Underground Ultra saw participants take on a demanding 12-hour endurance challenge, completing a set distance every hour, on the hour. Each hourly challenge included: 4 laps (1,200m run total as a pair) 4,306m on an erg (bike/ski/row in a pair) 4 laps (1,200m run total as a pair). In the final hour, competitors completed the standard format before pushing through one last effort to see which pair could achieve the greatest distance across the machines. The numbers speak for themselves: 6,706m completed every hour 80,472m completed per pair across 12 hours! The true achievement is what the kilometres covered represented – opportunities for more disabled and disadvantaged young people to experience the social, physical and mental benefits of community sport. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated and cheered from the sidelines. Your commitment, energy and generosity made this event a great success. An extra special thank you to Lauren Sullivan for organising this fantastic fundraiser which brought people together in support of inclusion through sport. Inspired by MANOR’s efforts? You can still donate, every contribution helps us reach even more young people through the power of sport.
