New Flyerz Club Alert: South Yorkshire to Launch! The Flyerz family is growing! In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield Hockey Club and Rotherham Hockey club are teaming up to launch South Yorkshire Flyerz. The first four sessions have been announced and will take place this month. Don't miss out on these free and FUN inclusive hockey sessions for all! South Yorkshire has a high proportion of its young population with disabilities or special needs and has a high number of educational establishments looking after them. Over the last few years both clubs but Rotherham Hockey Club in particular have been introducing the sport to young people providing coaching sessions within the school environment and in after school clubs. We feel that there is an interest from some to increase their involvement in the sport. We therefore would like to offer the opportunity for them to join a group of young mixed players with disabilities to form a team or teams to train and play matches. Our sessions will take place on top level artificial pitches in the area in a safe and friendly environment supervised by suitably qualified and insured coaches and helpers from the clubs. - David Woodward BME, Chair South Yorkshire Hockey Development Group and President of Rotherham Hockey Club Sheffield Hockey Club are very excited to be in partnership with Rotherham Hockey Club and Sheffield Hallam University to commence Flyerz Hockey in South Yorkshire. The Flyerz programme will give both clubs the opportunity to reach out to young people in the community with disabilities and welcome them into the Hockey family.
