34,606 young people reached

604 community clubs supported

1,124 coaches and volunteers trained

We are proud to launch our Annual Review for 2024–2025, celebrating a transformational year for inclusive community sport.

Over the past year, we’ve reached an incredible 34,606 disabled and disadvantaged young people, surpassing our goal of 30,000.

That’s 14,000 more young people than the previous year, each now enjoying the life-changing benefits of belonging to a local inclusive community sports club.

Individuals
Through inclusive sport, thousands of young people who were previously inactive or socially isolated have found welcoming communities where they can play, grow and thrive. Our work continues to prove the power of community sport to transform lives.

Communities
By supporting over 600 clubs, we’ve helped energise some of the UK’s most underserved communities. These clubs act as local hubs to build wellbeing, promote inclusion, and drive long-term, sustainable change.

Systems
This year, we’ve worked closely with several National Governing Bodies, renovated community facilities and launched vital research projects to ensure inclusion is embedded at the heart of our national sport policy. By supporting inclusive grassroots community sport, we are helping shift the system to ensure every young person has the opportunity to take part.

Helen Rowbotham, Chief Executive of Access Sport, said:
“Reaching over 34,000 young people this year marks a major milestone for Access Sport. It reflects not only the scale of the need but also the power of our inclusive model. We are proud to be reaching more disabled and disadvantaged young people than ever before, helping them experience the joy and sense of belonging that sport can bring. This level of growth shows what’s possible when we work in partnership with communities, our sector partners and our supporters!”

This progress would not be possible without all of our amazing partners. A special thanks to:

  • Sport England
  • UK Sport
  • The London Marathon Foundation
  • Nuffield Health
  • Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery

Together, we have made a lasting impact on the next generation of young people.
