Rhys's enthusiasm and passion for coaching tennis has had a huge positive impact on the participants he coaches

Access Sport proudly awarded Rhys Parry Volunteer of the Year at our annual Stand for Inclusion dinner in March 2023. He is a role model and inspiration to young people.

Rhys joined Cotham Park Tennis club in 2019 as a participant at the ability tennis sessions which Access Sport helped setup.

After completing his Level 1 tennis coaching qualification in 2019 Rhys is now part of the coaching team at Cotham Park Tennis Club where he helps coach a variety of sessions, including ability tennis and LTA Youth Start courses.

As a volunteer for Access Sport and Bristol Parks Tennis he looks out for opportunities to help people improve their tennis and have fun! Rhys's enthusiasm and passion for coaching tennis has had a huge positive impact on the participants he coaches.

Rhys has showed fantastic ability as a tennis player and has won many competitions including 2 bronze medals at the special Olympics. He is a perfect role model for many disabled young people, showing them that they too can achieve their goals with hard work and a supportive network.

Access Sport supporter and Director of Tennis at Cotham Park, Helen Abbott has been an incredible support to Rhys. She has helped Rhys achieve his Level 1, safeguarding course, first aid, Miss Hits training and Inclusive Tennis training. All voluntarily to help with his development.

Rhys is a valued volunteer of Access Sport his enthusiasm and determination is something all volunteers should look up to!
