In May, Oxford Wheels Project launched the first skatepark based BMXercise sessions.

The bowl and ramps may have been different to the usual pump tracks but the sessions still embodied the BMXercise ethos; fun, friendly, fitness based BMX giving women a new enjoyable way to be active.

The monthly sessions kicked off with Pro Rider Kayley Ashworth as a guest coach and went from strength to strength under the guidance of coaches Alex and Doug.

"Girls supporting girls, that's what it's all about"

At least 14 females tried BMX over the summer, where the focus was on gaining bike confidence and learning new skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

As skateparks can be super slippery over Winter the sessions are on pause, but BMXercise will be back again in Spring 2020!
