Develop 20 inclusive community clubs in Manchester and transform 4,000 lives

We are looking for a partner to help launch Develop – a new project that will see Access Sport support 20 new community sport clubs across Greater Manchester, transforming some of the most deprived communities in the country.

Your generosity will create a tangible difference for 4,000 children and young people. Through Develop we will use our on-the-ground team to intensely work with clubs so they can run inclusive sessions for underserved young people.

With access to funding and training, these community clubs can become thriving hubs that have an immeasurably positive impact on local young people.

By coming on board you can support clubs like Stretford Victoria FC. This grassroots football club lies in the heart of Stretford and falls within the top decile for deprivation (IMD). Due to limited funding, a lack of consistent coaches and access to training, the club has been unable to cater for all of the local young people. With our guidance, Stretford has expanded its teams for both boys and girls, introduced new coaches, activated a new pitch and initiated a disability inclusion team.

Ollie, a player on the new U11 Girls Team said:

“Since I started playing football with Stretford Vics just over a year ago, my confidence has grown because there are so many friendly and lovely girls who are a part of my team. We have great times and everybody is super supportive and kind to each other and the other teams".

Stretford showcases that community sport clubs in underserved communities often have the vision to become fully inclusive. However, due to a lack of guidance and funding their plans haven’t materialised. With your generosity, we can support more clubs like Stretford to become fully inclusive of all young people.
