Our Work Changing Sports Football Help get more disabled and neurodivergent young people to play the beautiful game! Find out more > Access Sport has worked with community football clubs and providers since 2018 to increase the number of disabled young people playing the game. Through partnerships with McDonald’s Fun Football and The FA, we’re creating more inclusive playing opportunities and building confidence across the football workforce. Together, these projects aim to ensure that disabled young people can enjoy the many benefits of being part of the football community. How are we growing inclusive football in communities? Since March 2024, Access Sport has been working in partnership with McDonald’s Fun Football to deliver pan-disability football sessions in communities across England. Fun Football gives children aged 5–11 the chance to play, develop, and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment. Together with McDonald’s and local delivery partners, we’re helping ensure that disabled children can take part and experience all the joy and confidence that football brings. How are we supporting the football workforce to be more inclusive? Access Sport is partnering with The FA to increase understanding and confidence around neurodivergence inclusion in football. We have been working with the FA to deliver tailored training for their workforce, grassroots clubs, and community providers, helping them recognise and remove barriers so that more neurodivergent young people can thrive through the game. This collaboration aims to drive long-term cultural change within grassroots football, ensuring inclusion is at the heart of how the game is delivered. Get involved > We know many people, clubs, and organisations across football share our commitment to inclusion. If you’d like to help make the game more inclusive for disabled and neurodivergent young people, we’d love to hear from you.
